Melissa L. Hahn Price, O.D.
Melissa L. Hahn Price, O.D., is the optometrist and owner of Hahn Price Vision Center. She has been practicing optometry in Olathe for the last 15 years. Dr. Price is from Bartlett, Kansas, where she was born and raised on her family farm. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS in May 1999. Dr. Price went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK in May 2003. NSUCO is known for its extensive amount of hands on training. While at NSUCO, she became involved with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH).
While volunteering, with VOSH, Dr. Price traveled to Cancun to provide eye health exams and distribute glasses to the under privileged. Dr. Price has been the recipient of several honors and awards including membership to Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, Ciba Vision Contact Lens Excellence Award 2001-2002, Alcon Excellence in Contact Lens Fitting Award 2002-2003, American Academy of Optometry Heart of America Chapter Award 2002, Volunteer for Special Olympics 2009-2011, Chair of Patient Center Medical Home Committee 2011-2014, Kansas Optometric Leadership Class 2011, and nominated for Olathe Optometrist of the Year. Dr. Price is licensed to practice optometry in the state of Kansas and Missouri.
She is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, See to Learn, and College of Optometrists in Vision Development. While Dr. Price enjoys all aspects of optometry, she particularly enjoys vision therapy. She loves working with all of her patients to make sure all of their needs are taken care of and questions answered. Dr. Price is married to James Price and has twin boys, Thomas and Michael. Starting Hahn Price Vision Center has been a long time dream for Dr. Price.
Andrea serves as one of our office managers for Hahn Price Vision Center. Andrea’s knowledge and passion for her position along with her willingness to exceed patient expectations helps to ensure that the eye care experience at Hahn Price Vision Center is second to none. Andrea is also our lab manager and brings 8 years experience with her in the customer service field. Andrea follows every individual, specialized eyewear order from selection to personalized and fitted to each of our patients. Andrea was born and raised in southern Maryland, moved to Kansas in 2000 with her husband and two children. She spends her free time with family and friends, swimming, movies, and music.
Linda is our Vision Therapist. She has a passion for working with children and helping them to realize their full potential. She has worked in Vision Therapy for 2 years, and in the optometric field since 1988. Linda brings with her a history of working with visually impaired children, which is her motivation for the Vision Therapy field. She moved to Kansas from western Kentucky in 2015. She is married and has 5 children and 2 grandchildren. She loves painting, traveling to Kentucky to visit her children and their families, and antiquing with her husband.
Caitlin serves as our Optician. She brings with her several years of customer service experience. Caitlin considers each patient’s lifestyle and personal concerns when recommending eyeglass lenses and will also suggest frame shapes and colors that best suit not only a patient’s style, but also their visual needs. She is passionate about making sure every patient is pleased with their eyewear and leaves with the best vision possible. Caitlin was born and raised in Kansas and moved to the Kansas City area in 2017 with her husband, Joshua, and cat, Oliver. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, knitting, playing board games with friends, serving on her local church’s worship team, and being a lead volunteer at a local food pantry.
Claire is a part time Vision Therapist for Hahn Price Vision Center. She graduated from Emporia State University in 2016, with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology. Claire has been working with children for the past 6 years and loves helping each child thrive. Claire is also a Registered Behavior Technician for Autism Services of Kansas. Her knowledge of running therapy sessions and working with children with autism help Claire to grow in the field of Vision Therapy. Her favorite part about becoming a Vision Therapist is building connections with her patients. When she isn’t working Claire enjoys puzzles, yoga, and being with friends and family.
